TWO National Parks in TWO DAYS: Sequoia and Kings Canyon
☕️ Want to support our adventures? Check out our A+K merch and eBooks! adventuresofaplusk.com/shop/
We have made it to our 50th and 51st National Parks: Sequoia and Kings Canyon! And although they are two separate parks, they are right next to each other and managed together, making them perfect to explore in one trip. So we spent two days trying to see as much as we could!
🎥 We obtained a commercial filming permit from the NPS to film this video. And all drone footage was shot legally outside of the National Park.

    This is for Katherine Not to be mean or rude, but listen to your voice when you're reading as it were from a script, compared to when your expressing appreciation for the moment in a conversational matter. While reading scripted material your voice tends to drop into glottal stop mode leaving the impression of boredom. Voice coaches express concern that when a person practices the constricted glottal constriction too much it could result in muscle tension dysphonia, something very difficult to correct. Your conversational voice is so lovely and promotes excitement and expectation. Your script reading voice, not so much.

    I was just in both Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks, just a week ago. I was able to get to Roads End with my girlfriend. We did Roaring Creek Falls and Zumwalt Meadow. We also did the Boyden Cavern tour on the way out of the cavern. In Sequoia National Park we did Little Baldy Trail in contrast to Big Baldy. I did Moro Rock, but we skipped Tokopah Falls on this trip. We still had a great time, and I enjoyed watching this video. It brought back great memories!! Greetings from Washington state!! :)

    A quick FYI: If you're ever in a situation like that or worse, disconnect the positive (red) terminal of the battery for an hour or so. Sometimes the ECU throw a code, especially if it's been used roughly and that can reset it.

    Wow! This is easily one of the best videos you have ever made. Not just the visuals but also how did you get the bird songs at Panaoramic Point in? Awesome. If you are ever going back or are just curious to learn about the Sierras, I cannot recommend highly enough Kim Stanley Robinson’s memoir about a lifetime of hiking there called “The High Sierra: A Love Story.” Ps many years ago when I was 10 and my brother was 7, our parents took us to Moro Rock and we “ran away” up the stairs ahead of them. As a parent now and seeing Moro in your video, I’m thinking that must have been very stressful for them. Sorry mom and dad!

    We actually have something better than the hot dogs, a flæskestegssandwich what you probably would understand better as a porkroast burger. A bit like the porkroast open sandwich just a thick slice of porkroast with red cabbage a pickled cucumber and roasted porkscin (from the porkroast) inside a burger bun. Taste great.

    My maiden voyage in my brand new 2021 Winnabego Solis took place at Kings Canyon and Sequoia. My daughter was with me and I did the driving all the way up the next to the side of a steepcanyon on the way up from Fresno. We were on the outside of the road and it took some getting used to because we were up so high. I just knew I had to do this because I had just bought the van and my daughter was watching me to see if I could do it! I did! I don’t know if you got to the very end of Kings Canyon to a place called Zumlot meadows, but I think it’s probably one of the most beautiful places in a national park I have ever seen. There is a boulder Trail along the river and you look across a the river, across a flower field, with those giant mountains and it has all the goods you could ever hope for from mountain scenery! I think they have trouble with bear activity back there. I can’t wait to go back!

    We spent a week in April at Yosemite and Sequoia NP's. A little early... Moro Rock and Tunnel Log were closed off due to snow, but we got to see General Sherman and General Grant. We stayed at the KOA campground in Visalia while at Sequoia NP (very nice campground!) and at the Yosemite RV Resort while at Yosemite NP (also a very nice campground). Both were good locations to see each park. Oh, my order of Bowl & Kettle came in early (I chose the crawfish and chicken options) and will be trying them soon. Oh, and another big OH!, congrats on 200K! Well deserved and will be here with you for many more. Cheers! Pete in Arizona - KI7LIL

    Do you have to pay for a filming permit at these national Parks? Seems like some say you do and others say you don’t for UA-cam.

    • @AdventuresofAplusK
      @AdventuresofAplusK День тому

      You are required to have a permit to film videos for UA-cam in National Parks. In their recent rule changes, they specifically called out UA-cam as needing a permit. Every park is different (some don’t really care, while others are MEGA strict) and a few are not requiring a fee, but the majority are. Unfortunately for us, Sequoia, Kings Canyon, Yosemite, and Great Basin all charged us fees to film and made us go through the permitting process.

    Im a proud Nova Scotia boy. I believe everyone deserves dignity and respect. Im almost 43 years old. My grandfather, father and uncles rebuilt and repaved the cabot trail in the 80s andearly 90s. I spent alot of time as a young fella in Cape Breton on weekends. We live near truro and Dad worked through the week paving as a foreman. When he was working in the most Beautiful place on earth, instead of him driving home, we drove to him. I am a lucky person and i will never forget those memories. The stories that i grew up hearing about building a road over Cape Smokey are family legands and secrets. If you ever get there you will know what i mean lol. Great video!!! Nova Scotia deserves it

      Sequoia and Kings Canyon were so epic! Yosemite was too! Were finishing up that edit this week! It would be fun to climb Half Dome, but we didn't try for the permit and they wouldn't have let us film it anyway 😏 Thanks, Al!
